About NSNG

NSNG is a modern, friendly guild which meets September through May. Our aim is to encourage high standards of creativity in all areas of needlework and fiber arts.

At each meeting we have a lecture by a well-known artist, usually followed by a two-day workshop.

All of our meetings are open. Guests may attend once for free, after which they must join to continue attending. Dues are fifty dollars per year.

We meet on the first Tuesday of the month at Gloria Dei Church, 1133 Pfingsten Road, Northbrook, Illinois, at 9:30 am.

Further Information about our Guild

Workshops are held at Gloria Dei Evangelical Lutheran Church. Workshops are from 9:30am until 4:00p.

Handmade nametags are encouraged for each member at meetings. Name tags are a great way for people to get to know one another and to show off your talents for your particular fiber related field.

Service projects are always available. At every meeting there is a table set up where you can check out current service projects.

A holiday party is held at our December general meeting, from 11:00am to 3:00pm. This is usually a potluck and optional gift exchange.

A potluck luncheon is held in May after our last meeting for the guild year. Bring a dish and stay for conversation and socialization with guild friends.

Other activities include a summer picnic, the Fine Art of Fiber show held with the Illinois Quilters Guild and the North Shore Weavers Guild. Information on these events will be published in the newsletter as necessary and further information can be found within this website.

There are plenty of volunteer opportunties. Help with service projects is always encouraged as well as hostess for workshops and meetings and special luncheon volunteers for the holiday party, pot luck lunch and picnic.
